What is the reason for the sudden shutdown of the excavator or the failure to increase the throttle?
When you are doing intense excavation work, if the excavator suddenly shuts down, it can cause you a lot of trouble. Especially in some time-critical work, this situation will lead to delays in the progress of the project, and even need to spend more time and money to repair the excavator.
When dealing with flameouts and throttle failures, we need to figure out what's causing the failure. Here OTTO will sort out some reasons that may cause the excavator to stall or the accelerator cannot be added:
1. Fuel oil passage blockage:
The blockage of the fuel oil passage means that some substances that hinder the flow of fuel appear in the fuel system of the engine, which causes the fuel to not flow normally into the combustion chamber of the engine.
If the fuel oil passage is blocked, the fuel cannot flow smoothly into the combustion chamber of the engine, resulting in insufficient fuel supply, and the engine will stall due to lack of fuel. Moreover, the blockage of the fuel oil circuit may also cause other failures, such as oil pipe rupture, fuel injector failure, etc., thereby affecting the normal operation of the engine.
2. The air filter is clogged:
The air filter element of the excavator is usually used to filter dust and impurities in the air. If the air filter element is severely clogged, the intake air volume will be reduced, the engine power will be reduced, and the engine cannot get enough air, which may cause the excavator to stall.
If the air filter element is found to be blocked, it should be cleaned or replaced in time to ensure that the engine can work normally.
3. The fuel injection pump of the fuel injector is stuck:
When the engine fuel injector or fuel injection pump is stuck, the fuel injector cannot work normally, and the fuel cannot enter the cylinder smoothly. This will cause the engine to fail to operate normally, causing problems such as power drop, engine overheating, and even engine stalling in severe cases.
Therefore, if the engine fuel injection nozzle or the fuel injection pump is stuck, the excavator should be stopped immediately and repaired. If you need to replace the fuel injector or fuel injection pump, you should use the same parts as the original ones to ensure that the engine can work normally.
4. The pump regulator is stuck at the maximum displacement position:
A stuck excavator pump regulator at maximum displacement can cause engine failure and potentially cause the excavator to stall. When the excavator is working normally, the pump regulator controls the working speed and strength of the excavator by adjusting the output power of the oil pump. If the pump regulator is stuck at the maximum displacement position, it means that the output power of the oil pump is limited to the maximum value, which will lead to insufficient engine output power, thus affecting the normal operation of the excavator.
5. Electronic throttle failure:
The electronically controlled throttle of the excavator can control the power output of the engine, thereby controlling the working speed and working intensity of the excavator. When the electronic control throttle of the excavator fails, it will affect the power output of the engine. In this case, the accelerator of the excavator may not be added, which will lead to a decrease in the working efficiency of the excavator, and may even cause malfunctions and accidents. When repairing and replacing the electronically controlled throttle, professional maintenance personnel and genuine accessories should be selected to ensure that the excavator can work normally.
To sum up, when the excavator suddenly turns off and the accelerator cannot be applied, we need to check the fuel oil circuit, circuit and other problems. If we can discover and solve these problems in time, we can resume the normal work of the excavator as soon as possible and ensure the progress of the project.
